Life abounds
With here and there
A gaggle of jugglers
A three ring circus
A herd of elephants
Running wildly
While a ringmaster searches for his suspenders
As the show goes on

Those times
When the world is swirling around you
Zipping by
You
Are involved in that you played a part
In what didn’t happen
Now standing with eyes closed
Ready for what’s next

Frank Lloyd
Must have patterned these wings
To distort the morning light
And reflect upon flowering leaves

Sometimes we
Take notice
Of the many amazing
Ideas and
Discoveries
And people
Boggling us with their cleverness
As it shifts the world

Jam packed days often lead to images of free flowing, stream of consciousness imagery. So is the case for day 300. Bold shapes and high contrast lines fill up the space. A fitting end to a lovely day.

Confidence
Did not elude this magnificent creature
Who at once strode forward
With both delicacy
And strength
A combination of steps which
Indemnified him
Against the occasional puddles
And problems

I met up with an old acquaintance for coffee yesterday. He’s an artist I knew from when I lived in Wyoming and he was heading back that direction after showing some work up in Vail. It was great to sit and chat with him because not only is he super nice, he is a great example of what can happen if you keep working at the thing you love.
I was really excited to be able to share my work with him and get some feedback. We talked about some different ways I could experiment with my pierced paper pieces – including really pushing the holes further to create more form. So when I got back yesterday I spent some time staring at a marble and poking holes to try to capture the little sphere.
Overall I’m pretty happy with it. There is room for improvement, but the exercise was good in that it let me see I can really push the paper much farther than expected.
You can buy this piece!
