Ink on sketchbook
I can’t say what exactly inspired me to draw this butterfly today, other than the fact that I wanted to work on a two page spread in my sketchbook. In a few more days these two pages will be filled with patterns and shapes and lovely areas of high contrast!

What happens with these later? Do they make it on canvas? Is this an end product? Just a kind of practice?
Almost always just a practice. I have some things in my sketchbook that turn into larger pieces, but for the most part, it’s just a nice place for me to let the ink flow without an end game.
