Goal: To create one piece of art each day for 365 consecutive days
I tend to hold on to what some people might call trash. I prefer to call it treasures or resources or at the least, stuff. You may be thinking this sort of behavior sounds much like a hoarder, but I will disagree and here is why: The stuff I hold on to is definitely worth keeping AND I actually use the stuff. Sure the treasures may sit for years in a box or closet before I decide their use, but eventually they will get used. I’m certain of it. Okay, I’m relatively certain of it. I’m relatively certain that somewhere down the line I, or someone I encounter, will use up all of my collections.
Yesterday I pulled out my trash/resources/treasures/stuff – which happened to be scraps that I had kept from day 101‘s cut paper project. I glued pieces together to create an abstracted bird and then began drawing. The final piece seems to flow and float. And while pink is definitely not my favorite color, I’m a fan of the contrast of black against the fluorescent. I am contemplating creating a whole slew of these. I am interested to see what a whole flock, hanging together would be like.
A flower in flight. Beautiful.
I’m glad you enjoy it! This is definitely a very abstracted piece – part flower, part bird. Little of this, little of that.
